What’s up everybody, it’s Nate Sestina here and today I will be writing about a quote that I love. "Bloom Where You Are Planted"

I’m gonna give you your Motivational Monday today, from Justin Su´a (Head of Mental Performance, Tampa Bay Rays). He had a post on Instagram the other day about eight principles of an elite mindset.

And #7 really stuck with me

It was.. be where your feet are...

My siblings and I, we really kind of have our own little twist to that, and we say:

“Bloom where you are planted.”

The Bishop of Geneva, Saint Francis de Sales

I think for me, what that means, and going back off of Justin’s post, is you know, be where your feet are…

BE PRESENT

Don’t think about anything from the past or anything from the future, just focus on what’s going on right now in your life.

How can you get better today? How can you get better in this EXACT moment, for the future?

Now the past is the past, you can’t really dwell on the past, you can’t change anything about it….. sure you can learn from it, you can tweak things and alter things and make corrections based off of those mistakes, but you really just have to be in this moment.

Be present, and be present minded… also be present physically. You really just need to take what you have and kind of move forward.

When my siblings and I talk about “Bloom where you’re planted”, it’s no matter what your situation is and no matter where you are, you just have to take what you have and just be the best that you can that day and just kind of move forward.

Be good for your teammates. Be a great teammate, be a good leader….. ALWAYS.

You want to make sure that at all times your energy and your effort is at 100%.

No matter what’s going on in your life, you’ve got to make sure that your teammates know that you have their back 100% and that they can trust you and that you guys can get it done.

These principles can also be applied in your life at home and outside of the team.
